Carol signs up for the London Marathon to raise funds for Galloway's

Progress Lifeline Control Centre Operator Carol Heaton supported local Lancashire charity Galloway's Society for the Blind when she joined more than 40,000 runners and elite athletes by running the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon. Carol, a member of the Red Rose Road Runners, spent over four months training for the 26 mile challenge and said of her experience, “I was lucky enough to get a place in the main ballot (after many years of trying) and joined my friend Hannah to raise funds for Galloway's Society for the Blind. Thank you to Progress Housing Group for matching the money we raised."

Galloway's Society for the Blind is a local Lancashire charity that creates positive change for blind and partially sighted people. Galloway's support people who are blind, or living with sight loss to do activities most people do daily without thinking twice to help people live independently in a sighted world. This year they are aiming to raise £1 million in order to continue delivering their services.
